In this section you will find 2010 course details on the following rock climbing training courses based in Ireland:

Learn from experience, not from an under quailified instructor. Bren Whelan holds the highest instructional quailifcation available in Ireland or the UK, the Mountain Instructors' Certifcate (MIC). Our courses will give you much, much more.

Learn to Rock Climb Training Course – (2 Days)

This two day learn to rock climb training course will provide you with the time to develop a solid foundation in the basic skills needed for safe rock climbing, in or out of doors in Ireland, the UK or beyond .

You will learn the current and most upto date rock climbing the skills to help you stay safe, from a full Mountain Instructors' Certificate (MIC) holder, this is the highest instructional quailification available and it supercede's the - Single Pitch Award, the Multi-Pitch Award and the Mountain Instructors' Award.

During this rock climbing course you will learn:- Rock climbing technique & movement skills, knot tying, belaying, equipment use and safety calls. No previous experience required.

Cost: € 170 p.p. All equipment included

Rock Climbing Improvers Courses - The Next Step!

This is a 'next step' rock climbing training course, for keen rock climbers who've done a ‘Learn to Rock Climb’ course. It will ensure correct skill development and provide the perfect platform for new and further skill development for rock climbing in Ireland or beyond.

You will learn the current and most upto date rock climbing the skills to help you stay safe, from a full Mountain Instructors' Certificate (MIC) holder, this is the highest instructional quailification available and it supercede's the - Single Pitch Award, the Multi-Pitch Award and the Mountain Instructors' Award.

Syllabus will include:

- Use of equipment, ropes, harness, technical rockclimbing equipment

- Guidebook use and route choice

- Understanding belay construction

- Ropework management, tying in, belaying and personal abseiling skills

Multi Pitch Climbing Experience 2010

Bigger is better! View the world from a new perspective! Learn the skills of multi pitch rock climbing under the guidance of our experienced instructors. You just have to hold on, relax and enjoy every moment!

Learn to Lead Climb - 2 Days

Know the basics? Then it's time to progress! During this intensive two-day rock climbing training course you will learn about the skills required for lead climbing at the sharp end: gear placement, rope work, belaying, belay construction, personal abseiling safety.

Previous experience of seconding rock climbs is required.
